The Process

01

Consultation

We begin with a free consultation, this could be scheduled for an in person meeting or via video call. We'll discuss your vision, the occasion, fabrics, silhouette preferences, timeline and budget to ensure we're aligned before moving forward.

02

Design & Sketch

Based on our consultation, we will start developing design sketches and select fabric samples. You'll review and refine until the design feels right. A 50% deposit secures your commission at this stage.

03

Toile & Fitting

A toile (sample) is constructed for your first fitting. This allows us to perfect the fit and make adjustments before cutting the final fabric. Remote clients receive detailed measurement guidance.

04

Final Creation

Your garment is crafted in its final fabric with all finishing details. A final fitting ensures everything is perfect before your piece is ready to take home.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the bespoke process work?

The process typically involves an initial consultation (in person or via video call), design development with sketches and fabric selection, a toile fitting for fit adjustments, and a final fitting before completion. Each commission is unique, and the process adapts to the complexity of the design.

How much does a bespoke piece cost?

Custom garments typically range from NZ $1,500 to $5,000 depending on complexity, fabric, and construction. Bridal commissions may be higher. A detailed quote is provided after the initial consultation, and a 50% deposit is required to begin work.

How long does a commission take?

Most commissions take 8 to 12 weeks from consultation to completion. Bridal pieces require 4 to 6 months lead time. We recommend getting in touch early, especially for event-specific garments, to ensure we have adequate time for fittings and revisions.

Do I need to be in Auckland for fittings?

While in-person fittings produce the best results, we work with clients across Aotearoa and internationally. Remote consultations are conducted via video call, and we provide detailed measurement guides to ensure accuracy.
